Happy New Year

“I think it’s the situations in life where we have to strive and achieve things in spite of our flaws that builds character and then in turn shapes us into the people we are.”

-  Alessandra Decosta, Immortal Prophecy

Happy New Year to all our Fans and thank you for loving our characters from Prophecy as much as we do!  What a dream come true it has been for us to hear how much you are enjoying the series.
When my daughter Samantha and I wrote Immortal Prophecy, we wanted to have characters who were strong.  Stand alone types.  People who were aware that they are in charge of their own happiness.  Empowered characters ….
Being aware of your  strengths as well as your  weaknesses is the first step to becoming your true self.  People who aren’t afraid to look at themselves closely in truth and work out what is real and what is unhealthy. People who  can endeavour each day to work towards the best version of themselves. I don’t say it’s easy. At times it can be very painful and difficult.
We all fail, but it is in the learning from our mistakes, that make us empowered persons. And it is in that old saying “To thine own self be true” that we can look at the truth of who we are and what we can do to make ourselves happy.  People can advise you, and it is always good to be able to talk things over with trusted friends/family, but the final choice for an adult person is to work through what is the right choice for them.
At times, life can be very complicated and it may be prudent to seek professional help or even counselling, before we can even get to the point of finding our true selves.
Never expect someone else  to make you happy.  Take responsibility for your own happiness and discover how to be empowered through self-awareness.
Get to know yourself, be honest and discover what makes YOU tick.

Take care

Self Contemplation

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Continuing on with this radical concept of self-love, I will attempt to offer some insights from my own experience as to how this may be achieved. When I refer to self-love I am really talking about  an awareness  of  self-worth and acceptance. Knowing in your innermost being that you are as individual as a snowflake and there will never be another exact copy of you. What an amazing concept to ponder. You are unique, one of a kind, priceless….

Sadly, not everyone is aware of their worth, their inner beauty or talents. As Eleanor Roosevelt suggests, we can give our power over to others because we may feel inferior or less than worthy.   The thing is everyone has something they are naturally good at or feel comfortable doing.  The key is finding your passion. Where you feel your most at ease.  Your real you.

One of the first steps I personally believe is to be aware of your body language. Ninety percent of what we say is non-verbal. Doing an online personality profile like Myers/Briggs can be most helpful too. We are all individuals, but we do fall into a broad category of personality traits. Remember, knowledge is power and the more self- aware we are, the more capable of achieving our goal of  self-love, warts and all.

Go gently and enjoy the amazing blessings that can come from self- contemplation.

Self Love

"You yourself, as much as anybody else in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." - Buddha

I’m sure most of us have heard the saying, “you have to first love yourself before you can love another.”  I believe this to be a true and authentic statement. My blog love and other contemplations is about discovering yourself. An awareness of your own beauty, creativity, passion, natural talents and what it is that you call your bliss. What makes you who you are?

My own experience has taught me, we must learn to know ourselves fully before we can ever be ready to discover another. The mystery of finding the real you is such an exciting journey and can be a very rewarding one.

I hope you will join me as we set off together on the most important journey any pilgrim can undertake, the search for the truth of you.
